So months after taking the time away from a working business, yes that meant no money for me. I had learned that creating for your own vision was much harder than creating for others, meaning the popular stiff i.e. sales.
I knew what things I liked but I had years behind of asking myself, would this sell? And this new venture wasn’t about that. Yes if I sell something someday that will be lovely but that isn’t why I’m doing this. It was crazy hard to not tone down, water down, or otherwise, sanitize something to make it more likely to fit in anywhere. I don’t fit in anywhere and neither should my art.
So I started by keeping it simple.
